Merino
Nature’s Performance Fibre
We run over 4,000 happy Merino sheep, frolicking through tussock in summer and enjoying the warm coats on their backs in winter. These incredible animals produce fibre averaging around 17 microns – the lower the number, the finer and softer the wool. This quality is perfect for luxury suits, but thanks to its softness and breathability, we love using it next to your skin under our clothing brand, Reeno Merino.
Merino wool is one of the most renowned and economically important fibres in the world, prized for its softness, breathability, insulation, and sustainability.
Hardy Animals with a Gentle Nature
Merino sheep are robust survivors, well-adapted to New Zealand’s high country. They graze naturally in groups and are easily mustered through the hills. We believe in low-stress handling to ensure both the animals’ welfare and the quality of the wool.
